26 new songs will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame this year.
Songs from Elton John, The Police, Patsy Cline, Neil Diamond, and Public Enemy will be added to the already over 1,000 songs that make up the prestigious list.
Songs must be over 25 years old and exhibit historical significance. A special committee reviews titles that are considered for the hall of fame, but the final decision is approved by the Recording Academy’s National Board of Trustees.
The recordings will be on display at the Grammy Museum and the recipients will receive a certificate from the Recording Academy.
Other 2020 inductees include The Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” Joni Mitchell’s “Clouds,” and Devo’s “Q: Are We Not Men? We Are Devo!” The full list of Grammy Hall of Fame inductees can be found at Grammy.com.
