Sandra Oh, aka Dr. Cristina Yang got her hands on a script of an unknown show soon-to-be called, Scandal.
She tells the story that she was still on Grey’s Anatomy when someone snuck her the pilot script. In the interview she says, I remember going to Shonda, ‘how could I do this? What is this script? Could I do this too?’ She said Shonda replied, No, you’ve got to play Dr. Cristina Yang. Sandra Oh said she is so glad the role went to Kerry Washington.
