Jackie Chan? Seriously? When was his last movie? Forbes Magazine released their annual list of the “100 Highest-Paid Actors In 2016,” and that tiny Asian powerhouse is number THREE on the list with $61 million earned in 2016. Number two was Matt Damon- thanks to the huge success of “The Martian” and his production company (where the real money is for an actor.) Fourth was Tom Cruise- he picked up $55 million. Rounding out the top five was Johnny Depp with a galactic $48 million, he won’t be doing as well next year, due to the disasterous “Alice Through The Looking Glass” in May. Who was number one on the list? Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with the “Fast and Furious” franchise, he’s going to be lingering there for a long time.
So, where are all the women? Jennifer Lawrence was the highest-paid actress this year, picking up $48 million dollars at #8 on the top ten. Melissa McCarthy was the next highest-paid at $33 million.
Before you get too upset about the women, move over to Forbe’s Top 100 Celebrities List: the highest-paid celebrity in the world this year is Taylor Swift, who earned an unspeakable $170,000,000. Yes. That’s one hundred and seventy million dollars.
BTW: Forbes calculates earnings based from June of 2015 to June of 2016 to come to their total.
